Sydney has degrees from North Texas University (Denton, Texas) and the New England Conservatory of Music (Boston, Massachusetts). She has taught and played professionally in the north Texas area for 35 years.
Sydney was under contract with the Fort Worth (Texas) Symphony for about 15 years, and she still occasionally plays for them. She plays regularly with the Texas Wind Ensemble and is a guest performer with many other ensembles.
Sydney is part of Octavia, a professional eight-harp ensemble which produced the CDs Angels We Have Heard On High and Moonlight Sonata.
Sydney specializes in weddings and plays many solo peformances. She balances her busy performance schedule with her teaching schedule.
Sydney and her husband Dan have six children and eight grandchildren, and live in Parker County, west of Fort Worth, Texas.
